Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to your use of every part of Capmatter - the Marketing Website, the Financial OS, and Founder Circle - and supplements our Terms and Conditions. Where the two differ on the same topic, the Terms and Conditions govern.
2. Prohibited conduct - platform-wide
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, company, or data that isn't yours
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform
- Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the platform's operation, including circumventing rate limits or other abuse-prevention controls
- Upload malicious code, malware, or content designed to exploit a vulnerability
- Use automated means (scraping, bots, bulk requests) to access the platform outside of a documented integration
- Misrepresent your identity, your company, or your authority over any data you submit
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or securities violations
- Circumvent subscription plan limits or restrictions
3. Founder verification and company data integrity
Verification and company-data features exist to keep the platform trustworthy. You must not:
- Submit a founder, investor, mentor, or operator verification application with false information, including a fabricated company, role, or CIN
- Impersonate another founder, company, or investor
- Enter shareholder, cap table, or ESOP data you know to be false with intent to mislead an investor, employee, or regulator
- Attempt to approve your own or an associate's verification application, or otherwise circumvent independent admin review
4. Founder Circle community conduct
Founder Circle is a professional network for verified founders, investors, mentors, and operators. When posting, commenting, messaging, or otherwise interacting with other members, you must not:
- Harass, threaten, demean, or abuse another member
- Post content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or hateful toward any individual or group
- Share another member's private information without their consent (doxxing)
- Post spam, unsolicited promotional content, or bulk unsolicited messages
- Impersonate another member, company, or public figure
- Post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content
- Use direct messaging or the AI Founder feature to generate or distribute abusive, harassing, or illegal content
- Repeatedly create low-quality or duplicate resources/announcements to manipulate visibility
Founder Circle has active content moderation: verified admins and circle moderators can review reported content, remove it, and suspend or restrict accounts. Every moderation action is logged. See Section 8 below for how to report something.
5. User-generated content - your responsibility
You are solely responsible for content you post, comment, message, or otherwise submit to Founder Circle ("User-Generated Content"). You confirm you have the right to share it, that it does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property, and that it complies with this policy. See our Copyright Policy for how we handle infringement reports.
6. AI Founder - acceptable use
AI Founder generates suggestions from your own goals, circle context, and prompts. You must not use it to generate content that would itself violate this policy (harassment, illegal content, impersonation, or deliberately false claims about a company or individual), and you remain responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before acting on it or sharing it - see our Terms and Conditions for the full AI-output disclaimer.
7. Abuse prevention and enforcement
We use automated rate limiting on high-volume actions (posting, commenting, messaging, following) and independent server-side authorization checks on every write, to limit the impact of a compromised account or automated abuse. Reported violations are reviewed by administrators, and enforcement is proportionate to severity - ranging from content removal to suspension or permanent termination for serious or repeated violations.
8. Reporting a violation
Contact us directly at support@capmatter.comwith a link or description of the content or conduct you're reporting.
